Thanks for everyone who came out last night (January 23rd) at the BBC. We had a great turnout (at least sixteen) with lots of great discussions about the future of technology on the Cape, the new Macbooks and more. It was great seeing everyone!

It was great seeing everyone who showed up a couple weeks ago for the last tech meetup, and we are thinking of having another meetup on Wednesday January 23rd at the BBC in Hyannis at 7pm. It's been a while since I've tried to get the group together for a meetup, but the good news is that someone else on the Cape is also doing the same thing, so maybe he will counteract my slacking off. Well, we skipped over July for no good reason, but I think it's time for another meetup. I am proposing Wednesday August 15th at 7pm at the British Beer Company in Hyannis (http://www.britishbeer.com/local/hyannis/). Please post your RSVP comments on this thread about whether that works for you or not.

For those of you that have not been to one of these, you'll find that they are pretty relaxed - it's mostly a social opportunity to talk shop with your peers and find out that there are tech people on the Cape other than you. It's also a great way to learn what other folks are working on and pick up some new ideas. We usually just grab a table in the bar area and expand out as people show up. Just look for the tell-tale laptops (there is free wifi by the way). Hope to see you there,

The June meetup will be at the Mashnee Island Grill in Bourne at 7pm on Wednesday June 27th. The Mashnee Grill overlooks the Cape Cod Canal and has nice outdoor seating (assuming it ever gets out of the 70s again around here). Their address is 161 Leeward Road, Bourne and website with map is http://www.mashneeislandgrill.com. There are some signs to guide you in once you get close (the grill is in an otherwise residential area right on the water). I've been working with some great third party ASP.Net user controls from Telerik and could do a demo if there is interest. Also, thanks to those who came out last month to the .Net User's Group meeting at Onset and thanks to Onset and Marcia for sponsoring and organizing.
